Vacancy - Head Coach
 
Southwell RUFC are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Head Coach/Player Coach to lead the clubs’ senior teams for the 2024/25 season.
Southwell Rugby Club currently runs 3 senior teams with the 1st XV competing in the Counties 1 Midlands East (North) league. With a thriving junior section, we are a club that places ourselves at the heart of our town’s community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a coaching program that develops the tactical and technical skills of all our senior players.
  • Develop an appropriate game plan that will prepare our senior teams for league rugby.
  • Attend all matches and training sessions.
  • Actively engage with our junior section including coach development and technical assistance across our U13-U18 junior teams.
  • Work closely with the Director of Rugby and Team Captains to ensure that team selection is done in a professional and timely manner.

Key Attributes

  • Minimum RFU Level 2 coaching qualification (The club would be willing to support the right candidate in achieving this).
  • Proven experience in coaching or teaching rugby in a club or school background.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong communicator.
  • A positive and professional individual who prides themselves on setting high standards.

The Head Coach will fit into the club’s current structure and will report to the Director of Rugby. The Head Coach will be assisted by an Assistant Coach. The Assistant Coach will be appointed in conjunction with the successful candidate.

This is a part-time, paid position and the salary will depend on the candidate’s experience. The successful candidate will be available to start in time for the 2024/25 pre-season (Usually around June time)
