A massive thanks to everyone who came to the President's Day at the Club yesterday. A special event to mark 100 years of Rugby at Southwell and great to see to so many old faces there and the long-standing friendships that this great game provides. Thank you to everyone who supported the event, especially those that travelled long distances to be here.

There was a tough test for the 2nd XV against Meden Vale Rugby Club ending in a 17-17 draw - well done to all the team for holding out against a spirited finish.

The 1st XV then faced a President's Select XV containing players from past and present, an entertaining performance finishing in a 31-5 win for the President's team. Thanks to everyone who played and supported the preparations for this match.

During the day, we had guest commentary from former Ireland international Geordan Murphy, ably supported by Conrad Hunt. England legends, Jason Leonard and Brian Moore were also special guests for the day and we were treated to plenty of stories from their long careers during the day and at the post match celebrations.

Thanks to Rama and this team from the The Reindeer Inn, Southwell for providing the lovely food and to Steve Hussey and the Clubhouse team for keeping everyone well oiled throughout the event.
