A former Mellish player who is now a valued member of the U15s squad won the Gascoines Estate Agents Player of the Month award for March on Saturday. In his introductory remarks, club President, Conrad Hunt explained that Henry was a flanker who wins the team a lot of turnovers with his excellent jackaling, as well as being one of the hardest and most effective tacklers in the group.

He went on to say that he was also a strong runner with the ball in hand and scored four tries last month and had recently developed a new skill of lifting in the line out, giving the team many more options in that department than are available to the opposition at the present time.

Finally, sound contributions during team talks are demonstrating his leadership qualities and a willingness to step in and play in the 2nd row when the need arises also confirms his worth as a great team player.

In concluding, Conrad congratulated Henry on his achievements for the club to date and presented him with the winner’s trophy.
