Last Friday night the Gascoines Estate Agents Volunteer of the Month award for March was presented by SRUFC President, Conrad Hunt to Tolly Roberts for everything that he has done for the club as a player, coach, committee member and club officer.

Conrad went on to explain that having joined the club as a 16 year old he had a long playing career which included a 15 year stint as 2nd team captain.

These days he is probably best known as the Club’s Discipline Officer who looks after the club’s interests when players are involved in NLD RFU disciplinary procedures.

In addition, for a period of time he acted as the club Secretary and, more recently, he took on the responsibility for the coaching of what is now the U16s when illness forced the previous incumbent to step down.

And, in concluding his tribute, Conrad went on to say that those of us who know him well are fully aware that he has always been a Southwell Rugby Club man through and through and therefore was very deserving of the recognition that goes with being the Gascoines Volunteer of the Month.
