Southwell Colts arrived at Mansfield with a squad of 25 players all wanting to play even in the driving rain and wind.

Mansfield forward Smith scored the first try under the posts from a scrum following a succession of penalties and scrums around the Southwell line.
Southwell soon got in their stride and returning player Pritchett broke through from the backs to score his first of 2 tries in the game.
Mansfield never gave up as you would expect and thought they had scored a try but after further examination it was disallowed after it was obvious the Mansfield player had been held up.
Further tries from Pearson, Pritchett, Heaven and Hucknall and expert kicking from Ford secured the game for Southwell.
