It was a special atmosphere from the start, as Mansfield travelled over to Southwell for a Friday evening match, with a good turnout from parents of both Mansfield and Southwell enjoying our new clubhouse and with the first team pitch looking great under lights.

There was a spirited battle between these two local sides from the start. As Robin said to our U15s during the warm up, matches can be won by the forwards and if given the chance, the backs then determine the margin of victory. This was a match full of battling forward play with both sides winning their share but our forwards did give our backs the chance to shine. And shine they did, in a way that was a joy to watch as they ran and passed while gaining territory and creating a threat from every player running forward. All of our coaches, players and parents should be proud.

Big thanks to Malc for refereeing.
