Southwell Rugby Union Football Club History 1922 - 2022

In order to mark the beginning of the club’s centenary year, a 40 page account of the club’s history is being published in June in order to provide a permanent record of how rugby in the town has evolved in the last 100 years.

The story of Southwell Rugby Club explains how rugby was first started at the Minster School and tracks the club’s development since that time into the community based sporting and social facility that we have today. References to some of the characters who have been part of the club over the years will be included, along with details of the club’s many achievements both on and off the pitch.

The plan is to give a free copy of the booklet to all club members and, in order to help fund this, a limited number of advertising spaces are being made available to companies that would like to help support this unique initiative.
